Conflict is an indicator of "something(s)" not working!

Diagnosing what that 'something' is and then finding ways to resolve it has kept me busy working in organizations since 1996. I've partnered with countless clients to help turn troubled workplaces into places where people WANT to come to work… While mediation between employers and employees may be part of the process, as a scientist, OD consultant and retired turkey farmer, I am also the coach, trainer, facilitator and consultant whose focus is on bridging the gap between what "IS" and what "CAN BE".

What I know for certain is that IF people were consistently able to figure out what that 'something' actually is, communicate effectively with each other and find solutions to get things working again, there would be very few conflicts for me to help resolve.

But, we're not there YET!!

And too often I see organizations investing often vast amounts of $$$, time and energy solving the "indicator" but NOT addressing the real underlying issues.

And that doesn't work. Period. - especially in the medium and long term!

What it does do is create skepticism, cynicism, hopelessness for employees and the perceptions that:

Management doesn’t get it… (sometimes true!)

Management doesn’t care… (but they do!)

NOTHING is being done… (even when it is!)

NOTHING will ever change… (but it CAN!)
